September 2016 (TBD) - The 53nd Annual Spot Festival in Hampstead, NC, offers an opportunity to enjoy a dinner of spot, one of the area's best-tasting and most popular fish, along with generous helpings of cole slaw and hush puppies. The festival also has amusement rides, a variety of bands such as The Carolina Band and Bub and Morgan White, entertainment from area schools, as well as Anna and Elsa from Frozen, arts and crafts, and a fireworks show on Saturday at dark. Admission to the festival is free, but there is a charge for food and amusement rides. The preparation for this event is months in the making and when the field that is home to the festival begins to be taped off for parking, filled with rides and magic mirror hallways, vendors and art, the town of Hampstead and area visitors and residents are eager to see what fun and excitement the annual Spot Festival has in store.
