Hampstead is a fantastic location for commuting students. There's an assortment of community colleges nearby, both to the north and south, as well as the reputable UNC-Wilmington. Cape Fear Community College has recently purchased land between Topsail Island and Hampstead for the growing number of area students; their projected completion date is 2016.
